Developing a Prayerful Congregation
The Purpose of Prayer – Jeremiah 33 : 1 – 4
- It brings down God’s presence to help us accomplish a task God has called us to do without distraction. Exodus 33 : 12 – 23
- It gives us an opportunity to bring our weakness, limitations, and short coming and ask for help to overcome.
- It empowers us to discern the voices we hear. Matthew 4 : 1 – 11
- The flesh – listening to ourselves
- The world – trust the systems of this world more the God
- Satan – rebellion to God.
- God – divine direction. John 4 : 22 – 24
- It opens our ears to hear the voice of God – 1 Samuel 3 : 1 – 11
- The voice of God encourages us. Joshua 1 : 1 – 9
- The voice of God strengthens us. 1 Peter 5 : 10 – 11
- The voice of God directs us. Genesis 12 : 1 – 3
- The voice of God instructs us. Hebrews 8 : 5; Exodus 25 : 40
- It helps to know, discern and understand spiritual things. 1 Corinthians 2:14-16
- It changes evil plans. Acts 12 : 1 – 11
- It empowers us for Spiritual Warfare. 2 Corinthians 10 : 3 – 6; Ephesians 6:12 – 18
PRAYER MINISTRY – SALT OF THE EARTH & LIGHT OF THE WORLD. We are the watch men and women of the city, through prayer we will expel darkness from our cities so that our lights will shine for all men to see the good works of our God
